托福听力并不象想像的那么难,其中有很多非常实用,非常经典的短语,只要你能熟记一 [b]些短语,并且注意其中语调,相信您的托福听力会跃上一个新台阶。在新东方读过班的人 [b]都知道小钱老师,他将听力讲的非常有趣。在笑声中,便记住几个短语。好了,长话短 [b]说,我们将列出托福听力的一些短语,与大家共享。 [b][b]A big sale [b][b]大减价。托福听力围绕学生生活的话题较多,学生总是没钱,所以一听到on sale 或者 [b] for sale, A big sale , 等等大减价等总是非常有兴趣。 [b][b]A: Those are great sneakers, were they very expensive? [b][b]B: I never could have bought them if the shoe store wasn’t [b]having a big sale. [b][b]A far cry from 离……差的老远,有很大的差别 [b][b]The published book is a far cry from the early manuscript. [b][b]Anything but 单单除……之外;恰恰不 [b][b]对照习语: nothing but, 意为正是,只是,不过。 [b][b]She is nothing but poor. 她很穷。 [b][b]Susan is anything but poor. 苏珊一点也不穷。 [b][b]Are you kidding? 你开什么玩笑? [b][b]类似说法: you must be kidding, you must be joking? Are you [b]joking ? you kidding? You joking? 等等, 一起记。 [b][b]A: how did the game go the other night? Did you team win ? [b][b]B: Are you kidding? That would be a first. [b][b]Around the clock 一天不间断,一天24小时不停 [b][b]Martha studied around the clock for her management exam. [b][b][b]Be backed up (交通)堵了;(活)拖下来了 [b][b]The subway is running behind schedule, and traffic is backed up [b] for blocks. I don't know if we’ll make the 7:15 show. [b][b]A: I have two esams and three papers to get done in the next [b]couple of days. [b][b]B: How did it get so backed up? [b][b]Be burned up 生气 [b][b]A: Susan still hasn't gotten her research paper work. [b][b]B: I know, and she is really burned up at the professor. [b][b]Burn a hole in one’s pocket 有钱存不住 [b][b]A: Have you saved enough to buy that new printer for your [b]computer yet? [b][b]B: You know money seems to be burning a hole in my pocket [b]lately. Maybe next month. [b][b]Come a long way 取得很大进展 [b][b]A: I saw some of your paintings at the student art exhibit. [b]They are great. [b][b]B: Thanks. I feel as though I’ve come a long way. [b][b]Eat up 吃光, 占用 [b][b]A: Are you going to join the chess club this year? [b][b]B: Chess eats up too much of my time. [b][b][b]Fall asleep (腿)麻了 [b][b]Oh, I must have been sitting in the same position for too [b]long, my legs have fallen asleep. [b][b]Few and far between 很少见, 稀少 [b][b]A: Steve is a really terrific guy [b][b]B: He sure is. Friends like him are few and far between.
