部分考题:[b]1.[b]I[b]214"Society should identify those children who have special talents and abilities and begin training them at an early age so that they can eventually excel in their areas of ability. Otherwise, these talents are likely to remain undeveloped."[b][b]A[b]117The following is a memo from the business manager of Valu-Mart stores. (店名有改动)[b]"Over 70 percent of the respondents to a recent survey reported that they are required to take more work home with them from the workplace than they were in the past. Since Valu-Mart has not seen impressive sales in its office-supply departments in the past, we should take advantage of this work-at-home trend by increasing at all Valu-Mart stores the stock of home office machines such as printers, small copy machines, paper shredders, and fax machines. We will also increase stock of office supplies such as paper, pens, and staplers. With these changes, our office-supply departments will become the most profitable component of our stores."[b][b]2.[b]I[b]99.In any realm of life—whether academic, social, business, or political—the only way to succeed is to take a practical, rather than an idealistic, point of view. Pragmatic behavior guarantees survival, whereas idealistic views tend to be superseded by simpler, more immediate options.[b][b]A[b]1.The following appeared in a memorandum written by the vice president of Nature's Way, a chain of stores selling health food and other health-related products.[b]'Previous experience has shown that our stores are most profitable in areas where residents are highly concerned with leading healthy lives. We should therefore build our next new store in Plainsville, which has many such residents. Plainsville merchants report that sales of running shoes and exercise clothing are at all-time highs. The local health club, which nearly closed five years ago due to lack of business, has more members than ever, and the weight training and aerobics classes are always full. We can even anticipate a new generation of customers: Plainsville's schoolchildren are required to participate in a 'fitness for life' program, which emphasizes the benefits of regular exercise at an early age.'[b][b]3.[b]I[b]127."Facts are stubborn things. They cannot be altered by our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions."[b][b]A[b]51.The following appeared in a medical newsletter.[b]'Doctors have long suspected that secondary infections may keep some patients from healing quickly after severe muscle strain. This hypothesis has now been proved by preliminary results of a study of two groups of patients. The first group of patients, all being treated for muscle injuries by Dr. Newland, a doctor who specializes in sports medicine, took antibiotics regularly throughout their treatment. Their recuperation time was, on average, 40 percent quicker than typically expected. Patients in the second group, all being treated by Dr. Alton, a general physician, were given sugar pills, although the patients believed they were taking antibiotics. Their average recuperation time was not significantly reduced. Therefore, all patients who are diagnosed with muscle strain would be well advised to take antibiotics as part of their treatment.'[b][b]4.[b]I[b]153.Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively.[b][b]A[b]4.The following was posted on an Internet real estate discussion site.[b]'Of the two leading real estate firms in our town—Adams Realty and Fitch Realty—Adams is clearly superior. Adams has 40 real estate agents. In contrast, Fitch has 25, many of whom work only part-time. Moreover, Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch, and included home sales that averaged $168,000, compared to Fitch's $144,000. Homes listed with Adams sell faster as well: ten years ago, I listed my home with Fitch and it took more than four months to sell; last year, when I sold another home, I listed it with Adams, and it took only one month. Thus, if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price, you should use Adams.'[b][b]5.[b]I[b]114.Humanity has made little real progress over the past century or so. Technological innovations have taken place, but the overall condition of humanity is no better. War, violence, and poverty are still with us. Technology cannot change the condition of humanity.[b][b]A[b]117.The following is a memo from the business manager of Valu-Mart stores. [b]"Over 70 percent of the respondents to a recent survey reported that they are required to take more work home with them from the workplace than they were in the past. They cannot be altered by our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions."[b][b]A[b]190.The following is a letter to the editor of the Glenville Gazette, a local newspaper.[b][b]"Over the past few years, the number of people who have purchased advance tickets for the Glenville Summer Concert series has declined, indicating lack of community support. Although the weather has been unpredictable in the past few years, this cannot be the reason for the decline in advance ticket purchases, because many people attended the concerts even in bad weather. Clearly, then, the reason for the decline is the choice of music, so the organizers of the concert should feature more modern music in the future and should be sure to include music composed by Richerts, whose recordings Glenville residents purchase more often than any other contemporary recordings. This strategy will undoubtedly increase advance ticket purchases and will increase attendance at the concerts."[b][b]7.[b]I[b]10."Governments must ensure that their major cities receive the financial support they need in order to thrive, because it is primarily in cities that a nation's cultural traditions are preserved and generated."[b][b]51."Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."[b][b]A[b]145. A new study collected data that shows that people who snore are more likely to gain weight than are people who do not snore. It is well known that many people who snore also stop breathing frequently during the night for a few seconds, a condition called sleep apnea. The interruption of breathing wakes the person—often so briefly that the waking goes unnoticed—and can leave the person too tired during the day to exercise. Anyone who snores, therefore, should try to eat less than the average person and to exercise more.[b][b]8.(paopao-fish已提供,这里重复了)[b]I[b]38."In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books."[b][b]A[b]94. The following appeared in a memo from the president of Bower Builders, a company that constructs new homes.[b][b]"A nationwide survey reveals that the two most desired home features are a bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a large kitchen. Homes in a nearby development built by our competitor, Domus Construction, have whirlpool tubs and have sold much faster and at significantly higher prices than the average. To increase our sales and profits, we should include whirlpool tubs and larger kitchens as standard features in all our new homes. Since our recent buyers have voiced no complaints about small yards, we can also increase profits by decreasing the size of our yards."[b][b]关于高频JJ题 [b]I(寄托上统计的本月4次或4次以上,或者3个月10次或10次以上)41/244[b]武汉4.18早上8:30考到JJ题的同学6/8(共12人考试)[b][b]A(寄托上统计的本月3次或3次以上,或者3个月8次或8次以上) 38/242[b]武汉4.18早上8:30考到JJ题的同学2/8(共12人考试)[b][b]几点感想和疑惑:[b]1. [b]4. 关于A的JJ。觉得参考价值不如I的JJ。考试的形式有很大原因(每次考试是2个I,1个A),重复的可能性小了很多。并且由于A写作和找错的规律性,考试时对题目熟悉度要求是不如对I的。[b]5. 关于I的JJ。
